Peterborough have signed forward Marcus Maddison from Gateshead for an undisclosed fee.

Maddison, a former Newcastle trainee, has put pen to paper on a four-year contract with Posh. The 20-year-old has scored four goals in six games for the Heed this season. "I'm delighted to introduce Marcus Maddison - a talent who can play out wide and in the number 10 role. Goals. Assists. Flair," said Peterborough chairman Darragh MacAnthony via his Twitter account. "Thanks to Gateshead for helping make this deal happen and one all parties were happy with. I wish them good luck with their promotion bid this year." Maddison joined Gateshead in 2013 having been released by Newcastle. Breaking news, transfer gossip, line ups and goal alerts from your football club - delivered direct to your mobile.
