Rose makes Bury switch

Danny Rose has made his move from Barnsley to Bury a permanent one after signing a three-year contract for an undisclosed fee.

The 20-year-old striker rejoined the Shakers on a emergency loan on Friday with David Flitcroft determined to get him in his squad before Saturday's trip to Hartlepool. And the decision was vindicated after Rose scored within six minutes of coming on, which, including goals scored in his first loan spell at the end of last season, took his tally to four in seven appearances. Speaking after the match against Pools, Flitcroft revealed his intention to get a contract for Rose tied down on Monday and the former Barnsley boss has been true to his word. "Hard work pays off - this has been a big chase for us and we are obviously delighted to finally get the deal done," said Flitcroft. "The fans love him, the players love him and we have really worked hard on this one, especially the chairman. "He's a fantastic kid to have around the place and we saw on Saturday just what it means to him. "It's been difficult for Danny because he is Barnsley born and bred, it's been difficult for his family because he wanted to desperately do well for Barnsley Football Club. He has seen other players develop with their set-up and he wanted it. He's had to finish one chapter at Barnsley to move onto another with Bury. "Emotionally he was upset about it, but if he carries on with performances like we saw on Saturday at Hartlepool then he is going to upset defenders at this level and the next level. We saw what Danny Rose is about with the calmness of the finish. He's just a hungry goal scorer - and he's ours."
