Addison attracted by Wilcox

Scunthorpe's new loan signing Miles Addison admits working with Russ Wilcox again had a big bearing on his move from Bournemouth.

The 25-year-old defender joined the Iron for an initial month to cover for the injured David Mirfin and he previously worked with Wilcox at Bournemouth, whilst he was assistant to Lee Bradbury. Addison told the club's website: "I jumped at the chance to work with Russ again - he signed me originally at Bournemouth and I know what exactly what he is about. He is the main reason I am here to be honest. "It (the move) came about because the assistant at Bournemouth called me and told me of Scunthorpe's enquiry. I didn't know if it was permanent or a loan and it was the latter and I'm just happy to be here. "I've come here to play games, for Russ Wilcox and for Scunthorpe United Football Club. I want to play and I want to win."Addison also said he was keen for a move further up the country, after spending two years at the Cherries, with a short spell at Rotherham last season, and despite only just linking up with the North Lincolnshire outfit, his fitness is up to scratch ahead of the new season. He added: "I've been living down south and I'm originally from Derby so it's nice to come back up north and that was something I was looking for. "I feel quite fit and ready to be honest. We have one more game Saturday before the season starts. I got three games in at Bournemouth before I came up so I'd say I am in a good condition."
