Leyton Orient's new chairman Francesco Becchetti has vowed to back manager Russell Slade in the transfer market.
The Italian businessman this week bought former owner Barry Hearn's stake in the League One club and has set out his vision for the future. "An era is not finishing and a new era is not beginning," said Becchetti. "We are continuing with ever more strength in the history of Leyton Orient. "I have found a wonderful team here. I have found everything clean in the point of view of management and accounts. The well-kept accounts, the history and the location of the club all appealed to me. "The passion for a challenge belongs to our very DNA, we think that together with Barry and our friends here, our staff will be wonderfully integrated with his and we can look to new horizons, a new future and new ambition." Slade, whose side were beaten by Rotherham in last season's play-off final, wants to strengthen his squad for another promotion push. Out-of-contract Charlton midfielder Bradley Pritchard is a reported target and Becchetti revealed transfer activity is imminent. "We renew and reiterate how much we appreciate Russell's contribution and we have worked almost all night on transfers and in the next few hours we have a few announcements to make," he added. "I asked Russell to give me a list of five players for every position and we work from there."
