Cook ponders Boco deal

Chesterfield manager Paul Cook has not ruled out the possibility of offering Romuald Boco a contract with the club.

Boco was offered a deal by Cook, who worked with the attacking midfielder at Accrington, last summer but he turned it down in favour of a move to Plymouth. The 29-year-old has been training with the Spireites after seeing his one-year stay at Argyle end and he featured in Tuesday night's pre-season friendly at Matlock. After the 4-1 win, Cook said: "He's a good friend of mine. With him not having a club it's an opportunity for him to come and train with us. At the minute that's all that is. "We are looking for players, as everyone knows, and if Romy can get his fitness and enjoys training with us then you never know in football. "No-one ever knows that, it's not something we're actively trying to do at the minute but you never know."
