Daniel relishing Pope link-up

Port Vale new boy Colin Daniel is relishing the prospect of being reunited with Vale marksman Tom Pope.

The 26-year-old, who joined Micky Adams' side from Mansfield last month, played alongside Pope at Crewe Alexandra, and he is looking forward to linking up with the striker once again. Daniel told the club's official website: "I know that wingers are a big part in how Port Vale play and I like to take players on and get as many crosses as I can in the box for Tom Pope, so I feel like I'm a good match. Especially as I'd rather he gets the goals than me, as I like taking the assists. "When you make a run and the striker can hold up the ball, you know that a goal is going to come instead of the ball coming back to you via the opposition defence. So working with Tom who can do that is good."
