Shrewsbury have completed the signing of former Tranmere forward Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro.

The 29-year-old was a free agent after his release from the Wirral club and he is the latest player to sign for Micky Mellon's Shrewsbury in a busy summer at Greenhous Meadow. A delighted Akpa Akpro told the club's website: "I'm happy to be here and have a new challenge. "After meeting the manager, I had a good feeling and decided to come here. I could see he wanted me and he knew how he wanted to use me. "My strength is attacking but in a team you have to defend, so I will try to bring everything to the team." The Frenchman has made over 200 career appearances, including 41 last season with Tranmere and Bury whilst on loan. He added: "(Greenhous Meadow) is a good stadium and a good club, and it's the best time to start as I can become a part of things and people can understand me more easily. "I'm happy to meet new faces and hopefully we can get a good team spirit."
