Cooper grateful for support

Colin Cooper has thanked Hartlepool's board for his support following the arrival this week of Matthew Bates and Stuart Parnaby.

Defender Bates and utility player Parnaby arrived on free transfers and the Pools continue to search for new signings. "The chairman and IOR have been very supportive, which I'm grateful for," Cooper told the club's official website. "There was never a question about these two players coming through the door, which is brilliant for me because I know the two lads and the level of technical spec they're capable of." The former Teessiders have over 250 appearances between them for Middlesbrough and Cooper feels it can only work in Hartlepool's favour. Cooper added: "I think both Matthew and Stuart will adapt to League Two football because they have been round the block and I can't hide how chuffed I am to have them - I think I'm lucky and I'm delighted."
