Rowett expects defenders to sign

Burton manager Gary Rowett says he expects two of his players to sign new deals with the club.

Defenders Marcus Holness and Damien McCrory played 23 and 47 times respectively for Albion last season and Rowett expects them to follow team-mate Robbie Weir in extending their stay with the club. Rowett told the Burton Mail: "We're hopeful that something will be done soon with Damien and Marcus. "At this point if there wasn't a good chance of getting something done they would have gone elsewhere. "It's getting the details sorted and I'm positive about all of them and I hope we can get them done." "The likes of Robbie, Damien and Marcus are all players who have contributed a lot to what we've done in the last two years. "I would argue that all three are of League One quality, which is not easy to find. They have played a lot of games and been durable players for us." Holness and McCrory both joined Burton two years ago, Holness after leaving Rochdale and McCrory from Dagenham.
