Early derby pleases Sheridan

Plymouth will host rivals Exeter in their first Home Park game of the season, a fixture described by John Sheridan as 'brilliant'.

The Grecians did the double over their fiercest rivals last season, including coming from behind to beat the Pilgrims 2-1 on their own turf in April. And Sheridan is relishing the prospect of a sold-out stadium in the second weekend of the new campaign. "I think it's a brilliant game," he told BBC Sport. "There'll be a full house and for the first home game you couldn't ask for any more. "Hopefully we can get off to a good start at home. It'll be a very tough game after they beat us twice last season. "There'll probably be 14,000 at the game so it'll be great for the new players to get the atmosphere and it's important to get off to a good start."
