Shrewsbury have signed versatile defender Mickey Demetriou following his departure from Kidderminster.
Demetriou, capable of playing at left-back or centre-half, has put pen to paper on a two-year deal with the League Two club. The 24-year-old arrives at Greenhous Meadow on a free transfer after seeing his contract with Harriers expire. A handful of Football League clubs, including newly-promoted Cambridge, had expressed an interest in acquiring Demetriou but Shrews boss Micky Mellon has won the race for his signature. A graduate of the Glenn Hoddle Academy, Demetriou has in the past had trials with both Leicester and Fulham. He joined Kidderminster from Eastbourne Borough in the summer of 2011 and last month represented the England C team. Demetriou becomes Shrewsbury's fourth new singing this summer following the arrivals of Nathaniel Knight-Percival, Ashley Vincent and Mark Ellis.
