Southend manager Phil Brown believes his side could not be better prepared for the play-offs after beating Burton 1-0 at Roots Hall.

Barry Corr's first-half header secured the Shrimpers all three points against the Brewers. And Brown is now relishing facing Burton again in the semi-finals of the play-offs. "We're going in to the play-offs with a winning mentality and I think that's vitally important," said Brown. "Burton are a strong side and, with the changes they made, we probably didn't learn that much about them here. "But we're top of the form guide for the division over the last eight or nine games now. We have a fantastic defensive record and in Barry Corr we have a striker in a rich vein of form. "We're in good shape but I've had plenty of experience in the play-offs before and now it's all about making sure we hold our nerve and belief in these two games we have coming up. "I'm very excited about it and I know the players are too so we're really looking forward to the games we have coming up."
