Gregory hails Reds

Image: John Gregory: Full of praise for his players

John Gregory paid tribute to his Crawley players for coming through a gruelling fixture schedule over the second half of the season.

A host of postponements at the turn of the year left Town facing a horrendous fixture backlog, but they are comfortably safe from relegation and at one point even had an eye on a possible play-off push. Monday's 1-0 defeat at Notts County was their fourth match in nine days, but they at least have a few days off before Saturday's trip to Bradford. Broadfield boss Gregory said: "We've played 18 matches in the last 58 days, with almost the same faces. "They have been incredible in the way they have gone about their jobs, to have got us into the healthy position we are in in the league. So I shouldn't be too hard on them."
