Johnson lays down challenge

Lee Johnson challenged Oldham to extend their unbeaten run to the end of the season after a 0-0 home draw against Coventry.

Johnson's side created the better chances, with Jonson Clarke-Harris forcing a good save from Sky Blues goalkeeper Joe Murphy and also blasting a 25-yard free-kick against the woodwork. James Dayton missed from close range for the Latics, who were again denied the breakthrough when Charlie MacDonald's shot was scrambled off the goal-line by Cyrus Christie. Coventry's only clear opening came in the last 10 minutes when John Fleck was denied by Oldham goalkeeper Paul Rachubka. Johnson said: "A draw was probably a good result for both sides, but we didn't settle for a point. "We kept going and there's no doubt we were trying to win, but we didn't have the same zip after two big-pressure away games. "It felt a bit flat and end-of-season, but I'm pleased from a defensive perspective and we won the battle in midfield. We were just missing that extra bit of quality. "The good thing is it's another clean sheet and another game without losing, so I want us to keep this run going right to the end. "I think we are 85 per cent safe, but we aren't going to relax when there are still three games to be played and more points out there to win. "We've still got to play (bottom-four teams) Carlisle and Notts County and we won't rest on our laurels - we need to be ruthless and maybe go out and relegate somebody."
