Lewis playing for his future

Skipper Stuart Lewis admits he and the rest of Wycombe's squad are 'playing for their futures' ahead of Friday's clash with Northampton.

The Chairboys and Town are locked together on 46 points near the foot of the table and it is only goal difference that is keeping Gareth Ainsworth's men out of the relegation zone. Ahead of the game, Lewis claimed it could be the most important in their history. He told the club's official website: "It's a massive game because we are playing for our league status and it just means so much to so many people. "I know how much it means to the fans that travel everywhere and all those people that me and my Dad have got to know personally over the years. It means so much to them and to us as well. "We are playing for our futures as players, and as I said, we are also playing for the future of the club - that's how big it is now. "The boys realise that and they know what is at stake so we will be doing everything in our power to make sure we are a League Two club at the end of the season."
