No let-up for Cotterill's men

Steve Cotterill felt Bristol City had done enough to take three points after holding promotion-chasing Preston to a 1-1 home draw.

City's experienced Wade Elliott, on loan from Birmingham, capped a man-of-the-match display when his low 75th-minute shot from the corner of the box took a deflection to beat Preston goalkeeper Declan Rudd. Preston had gone in front six minutes earlier, also with a deflection, defender Jake King firing home from 12 yards after City had failed to clear a free-kick. It was only King's second goal of the season - and both have come against the Robins. Substitute Tyrone Barnett wasted a great chance to win it for City four minutes from time when firing over from 10 yards, to the dismay of Cotterill.. Cotterill said: "I felt we deserved to edge it 2-1 on our second-half display. "If Tyrone had been a yard nearer goal he would have found the top corner. "Preston were a bit better than us in the first half in terms of the way they used the ball. "They are a good side and if they finish in the play-off positions I fancy them to go up. "We are not out of the relegation issue yet. I have said for sometime that it will be decided over Easter and I still believe that will be the case." Cotterill substituted Adam El-Abd at half-time after he had picked up a caution. He added: "I was concerned that Adam might get a red card and the last thing we needed in such a close game was to go down to 10 men."
