Rowett: Brewers deserved more

Burton manager Gary Rowett felt his side were unlucky not to leave Bootham Crescent with all three points as they drew 0-0 with York.

The Brewers had the better chances throughout the game with Billy Kee striking against the bar and Matt Palmer having his effort stopped on the line by goalkeeper Nick Pope. Rowett believes his side shaded the match and was happy to leave with a point against a York team who had won their previous six games. He said: "It is a good point away from home, particularly considering the way we played. If you look at the chances created then I think we created a lot more than they did today. We were in control of the game and it's just that finish we lacked. "I was really pleased with what we did; the work we did across the whole of the 90 minutes was pleasing. Overall I'm very pleased; they are a team who have won eight out of their last 10 games and I think we dominated the best part of the game. "We were never going to sit back, we've not played a game where we set out to defend. We had most of the ball and had most of the attack. It is just that certain games dictate certain things and we decided to play the way we did."
