Dunne still full of belief

Colchester boss Joe Dunne said he still has plenty of faith in his players following their 2-0 defeat at Notts County.

Ronan Murray's superb seventh-minute strike opened the scoring before defender Haydn Hollis headed in his third goal in three games to double County's lead. For Dunne it was a case of what might have been after both Freddie Sears and Alex Gilbey came close for the visitors. "I thought the shape and the way we worked the ball was good in the first half," he said. "If they had not have scored it would have been one way traffic. "We dominated territory and Searsy (Freddie) has engineered a great opportunity which has hit the inside of the post and gone out. "We had that the other evening against Wolves, while Alex Gilbey was in a good position to score as well, so it was Notts County's day. "We need to have our own day and we will as long we keep believing. If we stay positive, it will happen. "The second goal before half-time changed the team talk because it meant it was another fight to come back into the game which is always tough. "If it stays at 1-0 and we come out with the same momentum then it's a different game. "The players have been coming back exceptionally well in recent weeks and we spoke about it again at half-time, but it was a massive hill to climb."
