Cooper frustrated by Pools

Hartlepool boss Colin Cooper says his side fell just short after they lost 1-0 at home to Cheltenham.

Pools went closest to scoring when Jack Compton put a free header wide of the post, while their best chance of a leveller came when Christian Burgess's goal-bound shot was headed away by teammate Luke James. This loss means Hartlepool have lost three in a row and two at Victoria Park this week. "It's a very frustrating afternoon on the back of a disappointing week really," he said. "I'm looking at home to the players and some of the younger ones looked like they were giving everything they had left. "Cheltenham were worried enough to change shape to counter us, but we were a bit short, just short. "The players who are creative and crafty were a bit short. We huffed and puffed and their keeper makes saves and blocks, were looked after the game with crosses and shots, but the one goal they scored from is a nothing ball into our box. "I'm disappointed and frustrated and a bit frustrated that three defeats in a week shows where we effectively are. "I said after the game that you can tell the lads who have been around the block didn't look like it was a stretch for them."
