Westley bemoans Sky Blues loss

Image: Graham Westley: Defeat a travesty

Graham Westley felt it was a "travesty" that Stevenage came away with nothing after a 1-0 defeat by Coventry at Sixfields.

Dan Seaborne scored the only goal of the game and Callum Wilson missed a late penalty in a tense and tight affair which saw Steven Pressley's side move six points away from the relegation zone. But Boro created plenty of chances of their own and Westley viewed the match as a missed opportunity as a win would have taken them out of the bottom four. "Steven said to me at the end 'your team were excellent' and I think we were," he said. "We were the better side in terms of possession and chances. We've missed several good chances over the 90 and it was a disappointing result for us but we showed a lot of grit and a lot of courage. "We kept pressing and kept pushing and I think at half-time they would've been glad to be at 0-0. The second half I thought was very much one-way traffic. "It was a travesty really for the lads to come away with nothing, with the fight and the work rate they put in they certainly deserve a lot more than to go away from here empty-handed. "We could have gone 19th with the three points but we've got some massive fixtures coming up where it will be them or us. But it shows how close we are considering we were nine points adrift."
