Worthy grounded after York win

York manager Nigel Worthington is refusing to get carried away with his team's form after their 2-0 win over Wycombe.

Goals from Ryan Bowman and Josh Carson proved crucial and although Steven Craig struck a post late on for Wycombe, the Minstermen extended their unbeaten run to eight games with a fourth successive victory. York have now earned 30 points from a possible 42 in 2014 and Worthington has hailed the performance as one of the best. He said: "We've just got to keep doing what we're doing, and not get carried away by anything that someone may say or write. It's all to play for, and the lads have been tremendous. We just need to keep this run going, and that's the bottom line of it. "We just need to get as many points as we can from the last 27. As long as we keep working towards our goals then there's a chance you're going to pick up a fair amount of points. "The first 45 minutes today is as good as what I've seen whilst I've been here. The movement, the energy and the invention within the team was fantastic. You would love to do that for 90 minutes but you know at some stage that the opposition are going to get into the game."
