Bentley wants Shrimps to build

Morecambe boss Jim Bentley praised his side for the way they took advantage of Newport going down to 10 men in their 4-1 win.

Morecambe striker Kevin Ellison was brought down in the box for a 57th minute penalty which saw defender Tom Naylor, who had put the Exiles ahead, sent off and the game then turned in the Shrimps' favour. After Jamie Devitt levelled from the spot Morecambe went on to score another three times in the second half to take all three points - Ellison on target before substitute Jack Redshaw bagged a brace. He said: "We played some decent stuff in the first half without reward but once we got back in the game we were ruthless which was excellent. "Two wins on the bounce has made a massive difference after going on a poor run of form and we are all looking forward to the next game now and hope we can build on two excellent results. "I really wanted us to build on the victory over Southend at the weekend and we did just that, we are in a much better position now than we were this time last week."
