Boss bemoans sloppy Cod Army

Graham Alexander bemoaned a sloppy display as his Fleetwood side were forced to battle back for a 2-2 draw against Morecambe.

Antoni Sarcevic's 20-yard free-kick put them infront but a header from Mark Hughes and an own goal from Nathan Pond had the Cod Army staring at a home defeat. But former Preston pair Jon Parkin and Iain Hume combined to give the home side a late leveller. Substitute Parkin's shot was saved and Hume tapped home. "It was a game which lulled us into a slow tempo," Alexander said. "We got the early goal which was good for us and then gave a really poor one away from our own corner. "It allowed Morecambe to sit back and make it hard for us. Second half we played a bit quicker without getting the breakthrough and then conceded another soft goal. "We kept going and did manage to pull one back and credit to the team. "But it was a sloppy performance and one we have to improve on to close the gap."
