Graham Alexander insisted Fleetwood had created enough chances to take at least a point from their 2-0 home defeat to Cheltenham.
Troy Brown put the Robins ahead within the opening minute before Jermaine McGlashan added a second in the closing moments, ensuring the hosts have now won just two of their last seven matches in all competitions.
"Conceding a goal after 30 seconds puts you on the back foot," Alexander said.
"It affected the way we played for the first 20 or 25 minutes.
"It took us a long time to get back into it but when we did we caused them problems.
"Goals change games and had we scored from any one of those numerous chances we created second half it could have been different.
"We've probably created more chances than we have in the last month."
