Horror injury blow for Barton

Graham Westley is keeping his fingers crossed Adam Barton makes a swift recovery after a horror injury in Preston's 0-0 draw with Walsall.

Barton had to be stretchered off with just 20 minutes on the clock after appearing to get his studs caught in the turf in chasing for the ball alongside Saddlers' midfielder Richard Taundry. "He has dislocated his ankle and broken his leg in two or three places - it is a little bit nasty. He will have an operation on Sunday morning," said Westley. "It will probably rule him out for the rest of the season but hopefully we will see him back in pre-season training in the summer. "The injury to Adam aside, we had some good chances to win the game but I don't think the draw is a poor reflection."
