Brentford's bid to sign David Ball has fallen through after Peterborough pulled the plug on the deal.

The striker was poised to move to Griffin Park on loan this week having recently completed a spell with League One rivals Rochdale. However, the Championship club have informed Bees boss Uwe Rosler the deal will no longer happen. "We thought we had the deal in place but we received a call on Monday night saying the move was off," Rosler told the Hounslow Chronicle. "We were surprised, as was the player, who was due to train with us on Tuesday morning. "But we are moving on now. Our intention is to bring a striker in before the transfer window closes at the end of the month."
