Fellow loanee wants Hume to stay

Preston midfielder Matty James hopes the club can keep hold of fellow loanee Iain Hume past the initial agreement. Hume, 26, is currently at Deepdale for 93 days after agreeing a switch from Barnsley and has made seven appearances for the club in the Championship. James, currently on loan from Manchester United, has only played with Hume for one game because of injury but was impressed with what he saw. He told the Lancashire Evening Post: "Saturday was the first time I've played with him and I was very impressed with him. "He's a good player for us but he's a bit like myself in that he's on loan and the other club owns you - so it's out of your hands. "I think it's still up in the air as to whether he's staying. Nobody knows what's happening."
