Burnley manager Brian Laws is hoping a win against Manchester City at the weekend will crank the pressure up on West Ham.
The Clarets currently trail the Hammers by three points at the bottom end of the Premier League and a win over City would put them level with Gianfranco Zola's men.
West Ham travel to Goodison Park on Sunday to play in-form Everton, with the pressure building on Zola.
Laws realises getting a result against City will not be easy, but says the chance to move within touching distance of safety is a great opportunity.
"Manchester City are in terrific form and we are not in terms of results. But we aim to turn that around and a win would give everyone a huge lift," he said.
"It would put major pressure on West Ham, knowing we were grabbing their ankles and pulling them in.
"It is a great opportunity for us. We have to make it difficult for Manchester City. The pressure will be on them as they need a win to stay in touch with the top four.
"The important thing is getting that first goal. That could be massive. It would lift everyone's spirits, players and supporters.
"I feel if we approach the game in the right manner we have every chance."
Contract issues
Burnley are putting on hold contract talks with a number of players until the end of the season, as the Turf Moor outfit look to focus on maintaining their Premier League status this term.
One of those players is defender Stephen Jordan, but he insists he is solely focused on events on the pitch.
He said: "We have just got to concentrate on the remaining matches and everything will sort itself out.
"I am just thinking about Manchester City this weekend and that's all really."
Jordan is expected to shrug off a knee injury in time for the game while Steven Caldwell returns to the squad following a long-term lay-off with a groin injury.
