New deals for Iron pair

Scunthorpe have agreed new deals with defender Eddie Nolan and goalkeeper James Severn.

Nolan, 24, had been released by former manager Alan Knill last summer but was brought back to Glanford Park on non-contract terms in February by Brian Laws after failing to find a new club. The former Blackburn and Preston man, who has three Republic of Ireland caps to his name, initially joined Scunthorpe on loan in 2010 before signing permanently in 2011. Severn, meanwhile, was back-up between the sticks for the Iron last season, making just one league appearance, and was sent on loan to Tamworth. The 21-year-old came through the youth system at Derby and has represented England at youth level.
