Penn hails Robins' fitness

Midfielder Russ Penn has praised Cheltenham's physiotherapy and fitness team, saying their input has been invaluable for the Robins.

Written off as relegation candidates pre-season, Cheltenham have impressed in the Football League's basement division and sit third in the table with almost half the term gone. For Penn, who has been a crucial part of the Whaddon Road outfit's midfield, having the majority of the squad fit the majority of the time has been a major factor in the club's success. And he paid tribute to the backroom staff, headed by senior sports therapist Ian Weston, who have kept the Robins fit as fiddles throughout the campaign. "On the injury front we've been really fortunate this season," he said. "I have to pay tribute to the physio and the fitness coach for that, because if you look at it I don't think anyone has been injured for longer than a week. "That's really helped us. We're a fit bunch, we train hard and that stands us in good stead."
