Rochdale have completed the double signing of Craig Curran and Ben Smith ahead of the new season.
Forward Curran, 22, has signed a one-year-deal, while goalkeeper Smith, also 22, has joined the League Two club on non-contract terms. Curran made over 100 appearances for Tranmere before spending two years at Carlisle. Smith made 36 league appearances for Shrewsbury after signing from Doncaster in 2010. Both go straight into the squad for the Capital One Cup tie against Barnsley at Spotland on Saturday.
