Gabon hold Portugal to draw; Didier Drogba helps Ivory Coast to win

Gabon caused upset as they held Portugal to a 2-2 draw, while Didier Drogba was on target as Ivory Coast claimed a 3-0 victory in Austria.

Ukraine claimed a 1-0 victory over Bulgaria in Sofia, with Shakhtar Donetsk defender Olexander Kucher scoring the only goal of the game in the 33rd minute. Kucher netted his second international goal for his country as the tall defender met Ruslan Rotan's corner with a firm header. Switzerland snatched a 2-1 triumph over 10-man Tunisia as Xherdan Shaqiri grabbed a stoppage-time winner. The Swiss had opened the scoring when Eren Derdiyok scored in the 39th minute but Hamdi Harbaoui pulled the hosts level after the break, before Rami Bedoui was sent off. Liverpool's Luis Suarez continued his goalscoring form on the international stage as Uruguay beat Poland 3-1 in Gdansk, with highly-rated Napoli forward Edison Cavani also getting on the scoresheet. Manchester United teenager Angelo Henriquez scored a late consolation goal for 10-man Chile on his international debut as they were beaten 3-1 at home to Serbia. Aston Villa's Christian Benteke scored for Belgium in Romania but could not save them from a 2-1 defeat. Nicklas Bendtner's opener for Denmark was cancelled out by Mevlut Erdinc just four minutes later as Turkey held the visitors to a 1-1 draw in Istanbul. David Lafata scored an early brace as Czech Republic saw off Slovakia 3-0, with Borek Dockhal adding their third in the second half. There were no goals in Georgia's visit of Egypt as the encounter ended in a 0-0 draw. A goal-filled clash between Armenia and Lithuania ended 4-2 as the hosts secured victory. Finland claimed a 3-0 success in Cyprus, with Teemu Pukki, Perparim Hetemaj and Toni Kolehmainen all getting on the scoresheet. Bosnia-Herzegovina snatched a last-gasp 1-0 win in Algeria as Muamer Svraka netted a winner in stoppage time. Havard Nielsen netted on his debut for Norway as they claimed a 2-0 victory in Hungary, with Mohammed Abdellaoue also scoring.

Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Nejc Pecnik scored a double for Slovenia but could not rescue them from a 3-2 defeat in Macedonia. The United Arab Emirates saw off Estonia 2-1, with Ali Mabkhout finding the 70th-minute winner. Jonathan Caruana scored in the 38th minute to hand Malta a 1-0 victory in Liechtenstein. African champions Zambia won by the same scoreline in South Africa as Collins Mbesuma fired the visitors to success. Iceland enjoyed a 2-0 win in Andorra as a goal in each half from Johan Berg Gudmundsson and Runar Mar Sigurjonsson sealed the triumph. Belarus came from behind to triumph 2-1 in Israel as goals from Syarhey Kislyak and Syarhey Balanovich sealed the win.
