Tarmo Kink is being linked with a move to Hungarian side Gyori ETO after being released by Middlesbrough.
The Estonian had made just two substitute appearances for Boro this season before having his contract at the Riverside Stadium terminated.
The 26-year-old spent 18 months at Gyori before moving to Teesside in July 2010, and the club have held informal discussions with the player.
Gyori ETO's executive director told Nemzeti Sport: "I didn't make an offer - I just asked if he wanted to continue his career in Gyor.
"We have great memories about him, he showed during one-and-a-half years what he can do on the pitch."
Fellow Hungarian side Diosgyor and a team from Saudi Arabia are also rumoured to be interested in signing the striker.
