Bundesliga side FC Augsburg have completed the signing of South Korean international Jeong-Ho Hong from K-League team Jeju United.
The 24-year-old central defender has signed a four-year deal which will see him remain at the SGL Arena until June 2017.
Hong made 57 appearances in four seasons for the K-League side and made his international bow in 2010 having caught the eye of South Korea coach Hong Myung-Bo.
Following a 15th-placed finish last season, FC Augsburg's general manager Stefan Reuter has been looking to bolster his side's defensive ranks and believes Hong fits the bill perfectly.
"We are delighted to have signed Jeong-Ho Hong," he told the club's official website.
"He will be strengthening our backline. Despite his young age he is an experienced international.
"For us it is great to end our search for a new central defender with his signature."
Neither club has disclosed the transfer fee involved in the deal but the defender could feature in Markus Weinzierl's squad to face SC Freiburg on September 14.
