Midfielder committed to club

Andreas Ottl has vowed to fight for his place at Bayern Munich despite being linked with a move away from the club. Reports have suggested the midfielder is one of several players who could find himself surplus to requirements over the summer. Bayern are expected to make a number of signings before the start of the new season and Ottl could be vulnerable after falling down the pecking order last season. But the 24-year-old is contracted to Bayern until June 2011 and plans to stay with the Bundesliga club for a long time to come. "I am not on the run, I want to stay on as I am ready to face the challenge and fight for a berth in the first-team," he told Kicker. "Uli Hoeness (Bayern general manager) told me he was happy with my development and I am well aware I am not a regular at Bayern."
