We take a look at the top five moments in the history of the Copa del Rey, ahead of Saturday's final, which you can watch live on Sky Sports.

Gareth Bale’s wonder goal, REAL MADRID 2-1 Barcelona - 2014 final, Mestalla

He’d scored 19 goals for Real Madrid before this point, but Gareth Bale’s late winner against Barcelona in the 2014 final truly marked the Welshman’s arrival in Spain. Knocking the ball past Marc Bartra with half the pitch to run at, Bale’s sheer pace saw him surge past the defender despite spending 20 yards of the surge off the touchline. He regained composure on the ball to slot under Jose Pinto... cue mass celebrations and his first of two major final goals in a fine first campaign.

Miranda’s late winner, ATLETICO MADRID 2-1 Real Madrid - 2013 final, Bernabeu

Atletico hadn’t won against their Madrid rivals since 1999, but finally broke their city rivals’ hearts with an extra-time victory. Cristiano Ronaldo had given Real the lead early on before Diego Costa’s equaliser, and Miranda popped up after 99 minutes to send half of the Bernabeu into rapture. They held on for the next 21 minutes, despite seeing Gabi sent off in an ill-tempered finish.

Toppling the giants, GETAFE 4-0 Barcelona (agg: 6-5) – 2007 semi-final second leg

After a 5-2 Barcelona win at the Nou Camp three weeks previously, a passage through to the final at the Bernabeu seemed a certainty for Frank Rijkaard’s side. The Dutchman rested Lionel Messi but fielded an XI including Samuel Eto’o, Ronaldinho, Xavi, Andres Iniesta and Carles Puyol for the return leg. Getafe scored twice before half-time to reduce the aggregate deficit to one, before Angel Vivar Dorado and Daniel Guiza netted in the space of four minutes to stun the then-European champions. Barca then lost their lead at the top La Liga and ended the season without a major trophy.

Galletti’s 112th-minute winner, REAL ZARAGOZA 3-2 Real Madrid – 2004 final, Barcelona Olympic Stadium

More extra-time heartbreak for Real Madrid, this time at Barcelona’s Olympic Stadium, came thanks to Luciano Galletti’s 112th-minute goal in a thrilling win for Real Zaragoza. David Beckham, in his first season in Spain, gave Madrid the lead after 24 minutes with a trademark free-kick before former Los Blancos midfielder Savio equalised. David Villa scored from the spot just before half-time for Zaragoza and although Roberto Carlos equalised minutes after the break with another free-kick, Argentine winger Galletti’s dipping 30-yard winner sealed it for the underdogs.

Galacticos toppled at home again, DEPORTIVO 2-1 Real Madrid – 2002 final, Bernabeu

Deportivo were experiencing their golden era under manager Javier Irureta, winning their one and only La Liga title in 2000 and seeing off Real Madrid in their own backyard in the Copa del Rey in 2002. Vicente del Bosque boasted Roberto Carlos, Luis Figo, Raul and Zinedine Zidane in his starting line-up, but they were 2-0 down at half-time thanks to goals from Sergio and Diego Tristan. Raul brought one back with 30 minutes to go, but Deportivo held on for a famous victory.
