Leicester boss Nigel Pearson has been extremely impressed by how well Esteban Cambiasso has settled at the club.

The 34-year-old former Inter Milan midfielder arrived at the King Power Stadium in the final days of the summer transfer window after 10 years with the Italian club.

Cambiasso could make his Leicester debut this Saturday when the team travel to the Britannia Stadium to play Stoke.

Leicester are still looking for their first win since returning to the top flight, although Pearson’s men have impressed in their three matches so far drawing with Everton and Arsenal and losing to Chelsea.

Cambiasso, who won 52 international caps with Argentina, has adapted to his new surroundings quickly, and Pearson is confident that will help the player perform better on the pitch.

Pearson said: “He talked in the first week here about his English not being as proficient as he would like, but I can assure you he’s a very good communicator.

“He has settled in very well with the group of players and that’s always a big plus when you’ve got a player with his experience and quality.

“He’s become a very important member of the squad straight away.

“He’s had nothing but a positive effect and I think that’s testament to his own ability, but also the character he has as a person. We’re very pleased with how he’s settled in.”
