Crawley boss Richie Barker feels his side are closing in on a top-flight scalp after the Swansea loss in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday.
Goals from Josh Simpson and Hope Akpan overhauled a 27th-minute opener from Michu to put Crawley on course for a shock victory, but Swansea hit back through Danny Graham and Garry Monk, in the 90th minute, to avoid an embarrassing defeat.
Barker said: "I thought at 2-1 the next goal was important. We wanted the daylight and you need that against a Premier League club.
"We have lost out by the odd goal to Manchester United, Stoke and now Swansea. We are getting closer as we are scoring against them. The pleasing thing is the performance again."
Crawley lost 1-0 at Manchester United in February 2011 and 2-0 at home against Stoke exactly a year later, both in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
