Clubs keeping tabs on midfielder's situation

Sky Sports understands Millwall are stepping up their efforts to tie down Josh Wright to a new contract to ward off interest from other clubs. Wright has impressed since arriving at Millwall as a free agent in November and Lions boss Kenny Jackett is keen to keep hold of the playmaker. The 22-year-old is out of contract next month and the news has alerted a number of clubs who are ready to lure Wright away from Millwall on a free transfer. A number of clubs are thought to have watched Wright in action in recent weeks and they are monitoring his situation at Millwall. Millwall are expected to hold talks with Wright's representatives later this week as they look to secure his services on a new long-term deal and avoid losing the former Charlton and Scunthorpe man to another club for nothing.
