Rosler to tie Alexander down

Brentford boss Uwe Rosler wants to keep hat-trick hero Gary Alexander and hopes the striker will sign a new contract soon.

Alexander took his goal tally for the season to 14 with a sparkling treble in Saturday's 5-2 victory over Wycombe. The 32-year-old is in the final year of his current contract at Griffin Park but has been offered a new deal. "Gary was brilliant," said Rosler. "There were good assists but he scored all sorts of goals and was in the right place at the right time. That's the striker's job. "His all-round game is getting stonger, he is a pleasure to work with and I hope he signs on."
