Slade feels best team won

Leyton Orient manager Russell Slade was adamant the best team had won after the 2-0 victory at Preston.

Marc Laird and Jimmy Smith's second-half strikes made it an afternoon to forget for new North End boss Graham Westley. "It was difficult to prepare for as I wasn't sure what side Graham Westley would choose but we had the greater possession, showed real maturity on the ball and made Preston ineffective," said Slade. "We played the ball out from the back and tried to pull them apart and at times we opened them up and created some wonderful opportunities. "The manner of the win was really pleasing and we restricted Preston to just one or two long-range efforts."
