Slade hails versatile Smith

Leyton Orient boss Russell Slade saluted his 'Mr Versatile' after Jimmy Smith made his return from injury at the weekend.

Smith, usually a midfielder, played in an unfamiliar right-back role at Rochdale and still scored the opening goal with a header in Orient's 2-0 victory. "He just ghosted in, nobody took responsibility for him and he's gone in and scored the goal," said Slade. "That's what he does, he loves getting in there. It's his first start back and he's scored a goal from right-back. "He thinks he can score from any position, so he's going in goal next week."
