Turner slams Shrews defence

Shrewsbury manager Graham Turner criticised his team's defending, after they lost 2-1 at Crawley in League Two on Saturday.

Mark Wright's consolation did little to ease Turner's anger, after goals from Sergio Torres and Dean Howell had put the hosts in control at the Broadfield Stadium. And afterwards the Shrews boss had a few harsh words for his backline. "We have to defend better than we did today. We conceded too many chances and that seems to be a recurring theme away from home," he said. "We seem to forget at times what we are good at doing and that's passing the ball. Everything we do in training seems to go out of the window when we play away from home. "When you play against the better teams you have to be able to deal with it but today we looked vulnerable, especially in the first 30 minutes."
