Midfielder in McCarthy's sights

Wolves have made a bid for Bristol City star Marvin Elliott, skysports.com understands. Mick McCarthy's promotion hopefuls have made an approach to bring the midfield dynamo to Molinuex before the closure of the transfer window. Wolves are thought to be in the market for a new midfielder and Elliott is believed to be McCarthy's top target. Elliott has established himself as a key man at Ashton Gate and is regarded as one the best players outside the Premier League. Wolves are believed to have tabled a bid in excess of £1.5million to try and persuade City to do business for the former Millwall man. City are loathe to lose the all-action midfielder, but Wolves are determined to land Elliott to enchance their bid to win promotion to the Premier League.
