AFC Wimbledon striker Jason Prior has taken his first major step on the comeback trail following eight months on the sidelines.

The 23-year-old suffered a broken leg against Crawley in April, just three months after moving to Kingsmeadow from non-league Bognor Regis Town.

But Prior got just over an hour under his belt as the Dons' reserves beat Ashford Town 1-0 in the Surrey Senior Cup.

Brendan Kiernan and Rashid Yussuff also made their comebacks from recent spells out injured.

And it was substitute Kiernan, back from an ankle injury, who grabbed the Dons' winner in extra-time.
