Potter praised for solo goal

Midfielder Alfie Potter has been saluted by Oxford and Burton after his superb solo goal helped his side secure a 1-1 draw.

Burton had taken a first-half lead through Adam Bolder but Potter's strike made sure the U's did not go home empty-handed and even had Brewers boss Paul Peschisolido purring. He said: "Only having that one-goal lead going into the second half meant there was always that opportunity for them to have a moment of brilliance from a player to get the equaliser - and that's what happened." Oxford assistant manager Mickey Lewis was equally fulsome in his praise of the winger's second goal of the campaign. He said: "It was terrific goal. Sometimes Alfie's a bit too honest because he stays on his feet when the tackles are flying in or he gets pushed, but this time he got the reward for his honesty. "If that had been a goal in the Premier League or the Spanish League people would have been raving about. It was an absolutely magnificent."
