Wycombe captain Gareth Ainsworth has agreed a new one-year deal with the newly-promoted club.

The 38-year-old midfielder accepted terms on the new contract on Wednesday morning, ensuring that he will lead the Chairboys into League One next season. "I'm really pleased today," Ainsworth told the club's official website. "The gaffer's offered me another 12 months and just to still be playing football is awesome. I'm really chuffed to be here at Wycombe and to be part of next season, and I'm ready to again and come back firing on all cylinders." Goalkeeper Steve Arnold has also accepted a new one-year extension, while striker Stuart Beavon has agreed a two-year deal. Wycombe have also offered new 12-month deals to Matt Bloomfield, Danny Foster, Leon Johnson and Chris Westwood. Jon-Paul Pittman, Lewis Montrose, Alan Bennett, Keiran Murtagh, Stuart Green, Jerome Federico, Sam Belcher and Dan Fitchett , however, have been released by manager Gary Waddock.
