Celtic boss Ronny Deila is confident goalkeeper Craig Gordon will be challenging for a starting place in the Scotland team if he continues with his current form.
The former Hearts and Sunderland player has been a revelation at Celtic since signing on a free in the summer after two years out of the game with injuries.
Scotland boss Gordon Strachan recalled the 31-year-old into his squad for the opening European qualifier against Germany in Dortmund earlier in the month.
Gordon was selected as back-up to Hull City keeper Allan McGregor and Cardiff stopper David Marshall, but his confidence appears to have increased since the return to club duty.
Following a solid display in the 2-1 victory over Aberdeen last weekend, Gordon produced an outstanding performance in the 2-2 against Salzburg in Austria on Thursday.
Asked if he Gordon can win his place back as Scotland’s first choice, Deila said: "Of course he can do that. I think Gordon is saying the same. He has keepers doing the same job and the question is who is doing it the best. That is his decision.
"I think Craig has been very good and, of course, Gordon has the problem with at least three goalkeepers I know about who are very good, so that is good for Scotland."
Meanwhile, the former Stromsgodset boss expects his team to be well prepared for Sunday’s visit from Motherwell.
"It is about attitude and being ready for every game,” Deila said. "That culture has been here for many years. The players are used to it.
"It is a very important game on Sunday and we will do everything we can to win it."
