Russia coach Dick Advocaat wants his players to believe they can win the 2012 European Championship.

The ex-Rangers manager has faith in his team's chances of lifting the trophy because they managed to reach the semi-finals in Euro 2008.

Advocaat wants his players to share his confidence as he insists that they are capable of beating any team in the world when they are playing at their best.

"My main goal is to win the event. And it should become the main goal for all of the Russian national team's players. We'll see how realistic this mission is for us," the Dutchman told Russian Daily Soviet Sport.

"After the qualifying campaign for the European Championship I believe that if my players can keep their concentration we can beat anyone on our day.

"But frankly speaking in general Russia still fail to reach the level of Europe's leading national teams."
