Turkey national team coach Guus Hiddink has distanced himself from a directorial role at Dutch giants Ajax.

Hiddink was speaking following Turkey's 3-0 home defeat to Croatia in the first leg of their Euro 2012 play-off tie on Friday.

The Dutchman has long been linked with a move to boardroom level with Ajax but the 65-year-old has always insisted that he is keen to carry on his role as Turkey boss.

However, defeat to Croatia has virtually put his side out of the reckoning for a place in the European Championships in Poland and Ukraine next summer and increased speculation that Hiddink could be lured to Amsterdam.

Unrest

The former PSV Eindhoven and Real Madrid, though, continues to insist that he will not join Ajax as their director of football.

"I will not move to Ajax," Hiddink told NOS. "This is something in the past and it's not going to happen anymore.

"There is always a lot of unrest at the club, which is typical for Ajax and Amsterdam."

Hiddink's current contract with the Turkish Football Federation ends in June 2012.
